I also found a lovely navy blue purse circa 1980-something for $1.90. It was embellished with a shiny gold shell, which I ripped off as soon as I got it home. I pulled out a couple buckets form my massive vintage button collection and employed my husband to decorate my new found accessory. He did a swell job, eh? I glued them on; hand sewing is evil. I hope they stick.

what $1.90 can get you
Oh, joy! I hit the jackpot today at one of my favorite thrift stores. I found a plethora of vintage fabrics and materials to upcycle; they are currently in the washing machine being cleansed of that familiar thrift store scent.

oh joy! It's hard to explain to other people the rush that follows finding some vintage fabric at the favorite thrift store! And forget trying to explain having a favorite thrift store...
